If you're anything like me, I can't read a text without my glasses. I'm often afraid of blowing something up on the tech side of this business. And some days I question my sanity for even wanting to be visible.
I went back to work at 47, after 17 years at home raising my 3 kids. Girl Scout troop leader, school volunteer, and Pinterest mom were some of my favorite jobs.
I started small. Crafts on Etsy and Facebook Marketplace. Lipstick at Saturday markets. Then a friend hired me at her insurance office, and two months in, she asked me to be her social media manager. That was 2018. Women over 40 have been asking me how I show up and make sales ever since.
Now that's exactly what I do. Every week, I help women make sales on social media for their business. And here's what I know.
Women need to be seen more on social media, not less. Being visible levels the playing field for business owners. The wisdom of women over 40 is needed by the world.
We can't let the world tell us who we are. We're emotionally intelligent. We're non-judgmental. We know things, because we've lived them.
